On this page we’ll tell you a bit more about what we do in broad strokes.
MPU runs regular monthly events from February to November and a special Xmas Party in December for members and friends. Our regular events usually have two features, although this varies depending on the nature of the event, and we most often feature open mic.
I know that’s a bit vague, but we try to mix up readings, discussions and workshops to give our audiences a wide range of events to attend. We also have an annual event designed to showcase the achievements of our member poets, an Awards Night and an annual event at the Melbourne Immigration Museum, all of which you’ll be hearing about very soon. Our events are held in a variety of venues in inner city Melbourne, and one special event each year in Regional Victoria.
In addition MPU presents an event at the Watsonia Library in Melbourne’s northern suburbs on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, hosted by Wendy Fleming and Christina Spry.
